Lilianton Residential Estate – Royal Reef
Description of Project:
Vitruvius was appointed for the Boksburg and Lilianton residential estate project, which involved the development of two estates over 6 hectares, with 550 units to be built in total.
The scope of work for Vitruvius Consulting included the design and detailing of the following:
-
Architectural Design
-
Structural Design
-
Earthworks Design
-
Internal and External Stormwater, Services and Roads Design
Through our involvement in the Boksburg and Lilianton Residential estate project, we gained a thorough understanding of ground conditions and bulk services requirements. We were required to upgrade various public services and roads as part of this project, and were able to advise our clients from the onset about what costs they should expect and what problems could be encountered during the project.
The Boksburg and Lilianton Estate is located on extremely steep slopes. As a result, we were required to carry out some very clever and creative engineering in order to prevent excessive construction costs. Additionally, the client tasked us with creating a large public space/open park in the center of the development. The creation of this park included the design of walkways, kerbing, play areas, swimming pool and recreation centres/clubhouses. We successfully managed to create a natural public space that would serve to invite residents into the estate.
